Luisa Picciuto is a Counsellor and Psychotherapist for children and adolescents. She is a kind, approachable and thoughtful practitioner, who creates good relationships with her clients.
Luisa is an Integrative Therapist, meaning she is trained to use various therapeutic modalities and skills to support each young person. As part of this approach, Luisa offers play-based therapy, which supports children in expressing their thoughts and feelings in safe and healthy ways. Luisa integrates other approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Psychodynamic and Person-Centred approaches.

Luisa’s approach is also systemic, which means she understands that young people don’t exist in isolation. Luisa can work with the whole family, recognising the importance of supporting not just the individual, but the entire system around them. This is where parental coaching and family support comes in.

Luisa aims to offer more than just therapeutic techniques, providing families with warmth, empathy, and a non-judgmental attitude, holding space for any young person to explore their feelings and experiences in a safe, ethical environment.
Luisa’s gained her Counselling and Psychotherapist qualification at the University of Roehampton (MA in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy for Children, Adolescents and Families) in 2024. Previously, Luisa studied Psychology at the University of Leeds (BSc), and Child Development (MSc) at UCL. Luisa has also studied Low Intensity CBT Interventions (PGDip) at UCL. Luisa has over 10 years' experience of working with children, young people and adults with a range of emotional and mental health needs, including working in NHS services including Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), Schools (including with special educational needs) and charity organisations.
